BioLume® has been either assigned or exclusively licensed all the patents worldwide necessary to practice the diagnostic imaging, food, beverage, and cosmetic applications of the Prolume Ltd technologies.  This patent estate represents more than forty patents, including broad, issued patents in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, and pending patents in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan, and ROW countries.  The patents cover the use of any and all “Bioluminescent Generating Systems”, either known or unknown, for our exclusive field of use.  The Company also has the rights to any subsequent discoveries or inventions from Prolume or BioLume that are related to our exclusive field of use.  The issued patents include both composition of matter and methods of use claims. 

The BioLume patent estate is listed below. BioLume is diligent about uncovering new patenting opportunities based on improvements during testing, product development and the manufacturing processes. In addition to the remaining life of our patents, food/color additives are eligible for FDA patent extension of up to five years.

The Company has also been assigned the registered trademark, BioLume®, as our corporate name.  In addition, the Company has filed trademark applications for the trademark “Lumoness™” as a brand name for our Bioluminescent Generating Systems for food, beverage and cosmetic applications, and “TumorLight™” as a possible brand names for the diagnostic imaging product.
